objectives
OBJECTIVES:
MARRIAGE CEREMONIES: 1. Always play a significant role in planning of all marriage ceremonies to be conducted in Grace Chapel, and also be involved with the marriage ceremony of any member holding in another Church, outside the city or country, as the Lord gives grace. 2. Familiarize itself with the marriage registration procedure in BC. Grace Chapel is registered and has marriage register from the government of BC.

COUNCIL: The Marriage Enrichment Ministry Council will include married couples. They will decide how frequently to meet and what tasks to focus on. Each couple will be responsible for a particular segment of the Ministry and will meet monthly to share victories and concerns. The Council will discuss which couples’ needs are currently being addressed and which are not, and how biblical principles could apply…etc.

MEETING TIMES:
1. 1st Thursday of every month at 7 pm in the Church to discuss issues pertaining to the ministry and plan for scheduled events. 2. 3rd Saturday of every 2nd month for outings at different locations: couple Movie nights, Community Volunteering, Food Bank, etc

gifts
HONORING COUPLES: Find a way to honor couples in the church who have been married for many years. For example, couples married 10, 25, 50 years or more on the Sunday before Valentine’s Day. This is very important as it encourages struggling couple or those considering divorce, that regardless of challenges they are going through, it can still work

PRAYEREngage in collective prayer activities to lift up all marriages in the Church to God, for the victories and challenges they are facing. Also to pray for all those intending to enter into this God ordained covenant of marriage and encourage them in all their endeavours. God’s word is powerful.

LIBRARYDevelop a library that will facilitate growth of the ministry and the target audience. In time, MEM will develop teaching/training materials for couples, workbook for engaged couples to be called “Preparing for a Marriage That Lasts a Lifetime”.

CHILD CARE @ ALL EVENTS: It is important for M.E.M to offer quality childcare for all marriage events, and require advanced registration for this service. A schedule and strategy will be developed to address this issue

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Foster a conducive atmosphere for the target audience, especially the marrieds, to communicate effectively with one another without fear of judgement. Confidentiality is a fundamental corner stone of this ministry. We know that the enemy (satan) has been, and continues to aggressively attacked marriages. In order to put a stop to this, we need to consider that confidentiality as a major aspect of our defense, alongside the Grace of God.

COUNCIL LEADER(S)Gilbert and Rachel Matembe are the lead couple. They report directly to Pastor(s) Bayo and Ola Adediran.
